The Battle In My Life
I cry silently every day.
When I go to bed, I cry myself to sleep.
My tears flow like raindrops in a tropic storm.
My feelings are the hurricane.
Don't get my depression confused with laziness.
And don't get my life's confusion mixed up with rudeness.
I fight my own battles every day
for a reason to stay alive.
It's in my nature to roam and explore
new places I've never seen before.
It urts so much to be forced at home
in a town where I don't want to be.
I feel like a bird trapped in a cage.
Will you please let me be free?
There is a place I've wanted to go
since I was 3.
I'm doing nothing but disappointing my family.
I know in my heart,
my future will go far;
if you would just believe in me.
I need your love and support.
When I go to bed, I cry myself to sleep.
My tears flow like raindrops in a tropic storm.
My feelings are the hurricane.
Don't get my depression confused with laziness.
And don't get my life's confusion mixed up with rudeness.
