Nowhere and everywhere, Nothing and everything
Leaning into the wind facing east
As sands of time blow
From the foam of the sea
And through the desert,
This is our life:
Every moment flaying skin,
Particle by particle
Until too little is left to stand,
Too little is left to sit
Or crawl
And we patiently wait for the last
To tear away.
Are we left to lie,
Nowhere,
Our final demise atop a barren dune?
Or do we spread ourselves
Across the vast unknown,
Scattered,
Exploring everywhere?
Do we fade into the nothing
Or release ourselves into the everything?
As sands of time blow
From the foam of the sea
And through the desert,
This is our life:
Every moment flaying skin,
Particle by particle
Until too little is left to stand,
Too little is left to sit
Or crawl
And we patiently wait for the last
To tear away.
Are we left to lie,
Nowhere,
Our final demise atop a barren dune?
Or do we spread ourselves
Across the vast unknown,
Scattered,
Exploring everywhere?
Do we fade into the nothing
Or release ourselves into the everything?
