Darkness
Whispered voices I can't hear
hidden faces I can't see
shadowed figures in a circle
shadowed hands smothering me
hidden children laughing and playing
elders waiting for a brand new day
random glances to the moonlight
subtle wishes the sun would stay
a tremor of fear down the spine
a sudden change in the face
memories flash in the mind
sadness floods too deep to trace
shadows running, screaming and crying
shrieks surrounding us in the air
shadows clouding in the thoughts
trapping the fears and keeping them there
shadows coaxing figures into the dark
pulling them down underneath
becoming one, never to part
becoming part of the shadows, never to beat
trapped int he shadows
here I stand
beating through this with empty hands
fighting a losing battle, a million to me
yet this one I'll win alone
and I am on they'll never beat
hidden faces I can't see
shadowed figures in a circle
shadowed hands smothering me
hidden children laughing and playing
elders waiting for a brand new day
random glances to the moonlight
subtle wishes the sun would stay
a tremor of fear down the spine
a sudden change in the face
memories flash in the mind
sadness floods too deep to trace
shadows running, screaming and crying
shrieks surrounding us in the air
shadows clouding in the thoughts
trapping the fears and keeping them there
shadows coaxing figures into the dark
pulling them down underneath
becoming one, never to part
becoming part of the shadows, never to beat
trapped int he shadows
here I stand
beating through this with empty hands
fighting a losing battle, a million to me
yet this one I'll win alone
and I am on they'll never beat
