please come home...
It was that day,
I saw him walk away...
He said to be strong,
To be there for my mommy.
With his bag in one hand,
He waved with the other.
They took him away,
Yet I did not cry.
I stayed strong for him...
Years pass,
Mommy never smiles anymore.
I never go out and play.
I sit by the window,
Waiting...
Another month goes by,
Mommy is making me get dressed up...
I put on my summer dress with flowers.
She looks at me and smiles for the first time in years,
A tear falls from her cheek...
"Mommy?"
"Yes honey?"
"Why are you crying?"
She smiles again.
"Its nothing."
I nod and held her hand.
We walk out the door,
I don't know where we were going...
It was a long drive.
We soon arrive.
Planes were everywhere.
We get out of the car,
Walking to one of the planes.
All our neighbors were there.
I look up to see men getting off the plane.
They all ran to there family's.
Maybe daddy was on that plane!
But soon everyone was off...
We didn't see daddy...
I look up to my mommy,
She was in tears.
I hugged her,
Yet...I didn't cry..
We began to walk away shortly after.
I turned around,
One last look..
He was there!
Kneeling at the bottom of the stairs.
I ran as fast as I could.
"Daddy!"
A smile appears on his face,
Mommy turned and ran.
We all held each other.
There on the ground,
For what seemed to be hours.
"Daddy," I looked at him.
"Yes?"
"I stayed strong daddy, I stayed strong like you told me to."
He smiled.
His eyes filled with tears like Mommy's.
I then cried...
Daddy was back.
I am glad he is.
I don't like mommy sad...
I love them to much,
I hope daddy will never leave again..
I saw him walk away...
