Uncertainty

If this reaches her hand some unpredictable force must be at play
for with my limited command of words I don't feel assured in what I say
perhaps I over think it all
waiting for the axe to fall
to strike a divide that can never be repaired
another relationship falling into decay's lair

I do know that matrimony didn't work out the way she planned
not even a thought at this point that I command
I treasure just being in her presence
learning a bit more about her essence
wanting to disclose and confide as two connected so relate
hoping I have not already sealed a fate

Only twice have we been out
so I really can't say I have much clout
but I have pinned for her for so much longer
and each time she is near my attraction grows stronger
perhaps the rust in dating has clouded my view
mistaking intentions is for me not new

I do have to wonder why she can't believe in the beauty I see
something in my declarations from which she must flee?
moments when I just want to look into her eyes
knowing I could get lost when my logic departs and dies
without any effort she combines sexy with kindness and grace
even holding her hand would be a most welcomed place

A wonderland or no man's land questions abound
I will try to keep my feet on the ground
and not fly too high by mistaking her friendship for anything more
instead go with the flow and seize an open door
through which she will be content if I am there
are my designs more then she wants to bare?
