On the hood, in the desert
The clouds are piling on each other.
Making the sky look like no other
thing that you have seen.
The sun is going down
& it looks like the sky is going to cry.
The sky looks so dark out in the desert
& it seems like the moon lost it’s luster.
Leaning back on the hood of that
black 1965 ‘stang
everything comes to mind.
The never to be answered questions.
Wanting all the answers to the universe.
Intersperse between our reality
& the real world.
Acknowledging everything that’s happening
in the world around me.
Maybe this is all a dream,
& suddenly
I hear the voices inside my head
All the people I have shared this with
Some saying I’m still a child with a wild imagination
& others telling me I need to go to an asylum.
The fire that I lit up next to me
to not get lost in this dark atmosphere
starts drifting & disappearing
as the tears from the sad sky start hitting it.
Like the scene that I’m seeing,
life is the raindrops
& I’m the ashes on the floor
getting hit by life
until there is no more
Faith is what I need to restore.
Making the sky look like no other
thing that you have seen.
The sun is going down
& it looks like the sky is going to cry.
The sky looks so dark out in the desert
& it seems like the moon lost it’s luster.
Leaning back on the hood of that
black 1965 ‘stang
everything comes to mind.
