Faces
Face in the mirror with no name
Are you the one who is to blame
For all the hurt I feel inside
A hurt I cannot set aside
You bring me torment and dismay
For day upon unending day
I wish I could destroy you now
If only I could know just how
I see you and I want to cry
And away from others shy
I never want to let them know
You are the face I hate to show
Buried deep within my soul
Another face sits in this hole
The face known as my one true self
But still she sits upon the shelf
Is there someone who will me save
And help me learn to be so brave
To show the face I know to be
The one real true authentic me
Are you the one who is to blame
For all the hurt I feel inside
A hurt I cannot set aside
You bring me torment and dismay
For day upon unending day
I wish I could destroy you now
If only I could know just how
I see you and I want to cry
And away from others shy
I never want to let them know
You are the face I hate to show
Buried deep within my soul
Another face sits in this hole
The face known as my one true self
But still she sits upon the shelf
Is there someone who will me save
And help me learn to be so brave
To show the face I know to be
The one real true authentic me
