In Celebration of Resistance and Rebellion.
1.
Dedicated to the people of Brazil, Fergusson and Greece.
Oh Welcome riots and insurrections
let the oppressed's rage freely flow
let it be felt by the oppressors
in every word and blow
let the people's anger rise bubbling
let it froth and flow forth
like lava
like the hot breath
of a dog
that has panted for
far too long.
Let the channels of polite protest
run dry.
Let the confines of law and fear be abolished
May they be buried in memory,
may the truth be known.
No longer asking permission
No longer begging for scraps
No longer meekly submitting
but White hot
melt off
the shackles of oppression
the stains of exploitation
heal the recurring wounds
of this world of indignity
This world is yours
no more hollow words
empty phrases
but action
This world is OURS
let us TAKE IT BACK!
2. To an Old friend now turned fascist.
How lost you are
old friend
once confidantes against the bosses
our common foe
but now
while I stay on the path
united in struggle
You've strayed
forgotten the past
play divide and rule
wrongly blame
and so exile those on your side
and so exile yourself
from humanity
and from my mercy!
3. One day
when misery haunted me
and suffering
allowed no breath
I first met
my love
Rebellion.
In the Darkest of nights
and the brightest of dawns
we dance and we play
Against all hierarchies
and masters
of all kinds.
4. All struggles are one
its where we have our fun
strive till the fight is won
and the world is red
like the bold morning sun!
5. All states are the lapdogs of the market
all states protect capitalism
put their enemies in prison
all states protect the status quo
want to keep things as they are
states will do anything to protect
existing systems
and don't believe in the
concept of going too far.
6. The State friend to cancerous capitalist parasites
chummy with the white supremacist
in bed with patriarchy
in love with heteronormativity
sees only in monochrome rigid Gender Binary
Abstractions before life
Economy before Ecology
Algorithms before animals
imperialism as habit
the jail, the gibbet or garrotte for any dissident
wishes death on the militant
co-opts and cajoles any anger expressed
in unofficial means
tries to win them over to its side
with goodies, prizes and bribes
with reforms and breadcrumbs
if not successful
not afraid to break some thumbs
vote vote vote
this time it'll be different
we'll rob you by profit, inflation and rent
act as the world police, puritan and parent
big brother you, mother you
make you ours
then we'll tell you it's inevitable
as oppression's spread
and they, the whole world devours!
7.From the peasants revolts
to occupy, balcombe and the porteous riot
through history people have refused to keep quiet.
whenever injustice caused
illusionary normality
to crack
people have organised
and strived
to fight back.
We should learn about their struggles
see the lessons we can discern
empowering self organisation
is not automatic
but something you must learn
voting is too easy
brings a simpleminded satisfaction
you know as well as I do
the best response is
Direct Action!
I hear so often people telling me the world
isn't fair
I tell them it's been made that way
through capitalist class warfare.
This is not a battle
I'm glad to have to fight
but despite fleas biting or pigs poking
it's one we all must
we are the ones in the right.
Until we look upon that glorious day
bite the hand that feeds
bite it till it bleeds
resist their oppressions
in every word and deed.
8. They say it's darkest before the dawn
then will come the new red sun
the people will rise like a great phoenix across the earth
and the world will belong to everyone.
Like Durruti said, we carry a new world in our heart
we just have to struggle to see it and fight the forces
that would tear it apart.
9. It'd be utopian for me
to dream up a blueprint
I can't dictate for future generations
I can't give you all the answers
I can't see the future
but I can speculate
and I can hint.
10. Means and ends link like ouroboros the snake
how we struggle today influences
the form
the future society
will take.
11. We'll organize ourselves on looking after human need
solidarity will be the aim, personal growth a goal
not chasing wealth or fame, we'll have no time for selfish greed.
no more any homeless on the streets, no longer anyone without food
eating and shelter won't have a cost attached, but be free for human good.
In harmony we'll respect the earth and it's creatures
but not having done that very well before,
I can't tell you all of the features.
12. All you heroes of spain
you taught me to stand tall and be fearless in the fight
you taught me how to walk the path and where it won't turn right
I'm proud to study your stories and be the one to carry it on
I only hope the Idea burns bright in me, I only hope I keep it strong
in the darkest times when it hushes down to a flickering flame
your memory breathes life into the ancient Idea
and we remember the new world that was being born in spain.
13. it only takes a seed
for fruit to grow
we need to study our past
learn the history from below.
14. Your liberation won't be won in an election
but with a grassroots movement
half creating the new world,
half fighting an insurrection
Dedicated to the people of Brazil, Fergusson and Greece.
Oh Welcome riots and insurrections
let the oppressed's rage freely flow
let it be felt by the oppressors
in every word and blow
let the people's anger rise bubbling
