Experiment
Written for a dark themed 31 word challenge by Uma.
Rules below:
micropoetry challenge.. as the title smells, expecting dark themes preferably (sunshine-soft sweats n smokes too r highly welcum though), but stritcly no erotic.
n the simple rules r
max 3 entries per poet
word limit per poem: 31 words or less
any format
new writes of course
title optional (not counted as part of 31, but don't have a lengthy running one i had noticed in few dup poems plz)
winner to be based on the intensity of content build upon n the overall poetic feel
--A Foreword:
This is loosely based on a film I saw a while back documenting Soviet sleep deprivation "experiments" during WWII. It was difficult for me to stay within the allotted 31 words.
I feel humbled that Uma chose this as the winning entry in her challenge amidst so many fine writers! My gratitude to DUP. :)
“Experiment” I heard them say.
There is no reference here.
Only the beat of my heart.
And the screams.
Sleep has deprived the bugs of me.
Possibilities of madness perhaps.
