What's so funny about the Sunday Comics ?
I don't know about you
But growing up
We never read the Sunday Comics
Because my parents while not intellectuals
Always made sure we read the New York Times
Which in those days could take you 3 weeks
to read one issue
Back then, everything was black and white
The paper weighed about 5 pounds
And there were no comics
The best I could hope for was the Sports section
all to myself
My parents worked pretty hard all their lives
Sunday was their only day off
Nothing made everyone as happy as grabbing their section
Spreading out on the floor and reading till they had their fill
I never missed the comics
I'm a funny guy who had few mentors
We grew up on MAD MAGAZINE
Alfred E. Neuman, aka George Bush
What me Worry ?
Google Alfred if you don't get it .....
