Time and Truth
Aged eyes, old as the sky
Picking up pictures of clear vision.
Birds flocking to the next water source.
And the days seem like years.
Mirrored reflections give away her youth
Seeing the world from decades of experience.
She has watched the world grow and change,
And she has changed with it.
The indians moved out of their homes,
Culture and knowledge not made a priority
No one living with the land.
When she lay broken, deserted and hurt
Being kicked around by a white policeman.
Cozy sauna built for two
On the island of your choice
She has tried to let it be known
But we, idiots, still refuse to hear her voice.
Aging skin that lags behind
Her each and every day
But what memories will we cherish
When we are old and gray?
Times can change,
But people stay the same
Smart ones learn from their mistakes
Getting one step closer to finishing life's game.
