You Have Taken Me

Ice cold
Goosebumps
disguised as tears
creeps on tip toes
into my mistress bed.
Fiery embers
of forgotten joy
silently burn
reduced to ash
while the piano in the corner
by the cabin wall
plays a eerie melody
all by itself,
the room becomes a tomb
as cold as your mother's womb
ironic since you were born
in this very room.

Your ghost hovers silently
as I hold your body close
as I sense you slipping away
you died staring in to my eyes
as I died years before
my soul in turmoil
waiting for your warm embrace
Holding hands
we descend into the
emptiness of space
and just like the cold
you have taken me too
..or maybe,
I you?
