To The End
We have so much to fear
Here in this cursed home
So much there is to bear
Away our courage is blown
But we must press on daring
Not cowered by the giants
Pain and pleasure fully sharing
As we ride on defiant
Breaking all that holds us fast
Pain pressure and death
If that makes us an outcast
Then must we hold our breath
Awaiting the worst it seems
Yet blessing pass our way
Even if it be a light so dim
It will not let us stray
From the ultimate goal
Once in a while we deviate
In readiness to give our soul
In exchange for a chance to alleviate
All the misery to us given
All that man stumbles upon
Life is far from a sure bet
Yet we tick the coupon
Hoping in hopelessness
That one day we will get it right
Waiting earnestly for dawn
Through the dark long night
Therefore onward marching pressing
Is all that is left for us my friend
Not humbled lowly depressed
We must strive to the end
Here in this cursed home
So much there is to bear
Away our courage is blown
But we must press on daring
Not cowered by the giants
Pain and pleasure fully sharing
As we ride on defiant
Breaking all that holds us fast
Pain pressure and death
If that makes us an outcast
Then must we hold our breath
Awaiting the worst it seems
Yet blessing pass our way
Even if it be a light so dim
It will not let us stray
From the ultimate goal
Once in a while we deviate
In readiness to give our soul
In exchange for a chance to alleviate
All the misery to us given
All that man stumbles upon
Life is far from a sure bet
Yet we tick the coupon
Hoping in hopelessness
That one day we will get it right
Waiting earnestly for dawn
Through the dark long night
Therefore onward marching pressing
Is all that is left for us my friend
Not humbled lowly depressed
We must strive to the end
