SOLOMON AND SHEBA
Based lightly on the legend that King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba conceived the ancestors of the Kings of Ethiopia, with a hidden reference to a male grooming brand. (Sheba had delivered spices, some of which were in those days used in making 'smellies'.)
The legend says
In olden days
That Ethiopia’s kings
(So it's believed)
Had been conceived
In one of history’s flings.
King Solomon
Had nothing on
When he slept with Sheba’s Queen,
Except old spice
That smelt so nice
And made her for him more keen!
It was last night
Before her flight
Back to her southern land.
Under his wit
(And bod, sans kit)
She gave herself to his hand.
Thus two races,
Of all places,
United in the city
Of King David;
They sired a kid
So dark and yet so pretty.
