Apollo's Wheel

I don't believe I'll ever tire of that sight.
The golden sun peeling away the darkness,
From the night's virgin sky.
A new day is delivered.

At night I am lonely with neither love nor friends.
For years ago I ventured out to win my solitude.
Good company was quite a price to pay,
But by the sun it is reimbursed.

For at the dawning of the day I am nourished.
Melancholy's cold grips melt away.
Dewy diamonds glitter upon Apollo's fingertips,
As he reaches towards his infinite destiny.

That heavenly vessel sails atop the stillest of seas,
Of turquoise blue and the pinnacles of perfection.
So warm and vibrant are these seas,
That only gods may bathe in them.

But as time's true and eternal rhythm turns the seasons,
So too does it steal the sun - a murder without penance.
For a heart beats with Apollo's wheel.
And with it a new day is delivered.
