POEM BASED ON ROSE'S 'fun'
This grew out of a rhyming comment I wrote to Rose's poem 'Fun' (the fun being in a cornfield).
Something about standing in that corn,
Both naked as the day we were born,
When the wheat has had its time to grow,
So that our nipples barely show,
Then, when on our backs and off our feet,
The concealment offered is complete;
The feel of the breeze that makes it sway
Forgot in the heat of 'well away'!
Skinny-dipping in a sea of gold,
Making memories for when we're old.
Something about standing in that corn,
Both naked as the day we were born,
When the wheat has had its time to grow,
So that our nipples barely show,
Then, when on our backs and off our feet,
The concealment offered is complete;
The feel of the breeze that makes it sway
Forgot in the heat of 'well away'!
Skinny-dipping in a sea of gold,
Making memories for when we're old.
