Vile
Descending into a hell a virgin spirit
I was utterly consumed
it started with a wink of a cat's eye
a demonic spirit staring back
voices talking to me biting and tearing at my flesh
licking and tasting my sex
I heard a voice saying it was moving in permanently
it tasted of vile shit
injected into my soul
caused me to hear and see things others didn't
talking to me through the radio and television
the characters once so pleasant were now mocking me
sending coded messages only I could see
a news flash came on with a person burned beyond recognition
warned by the demons not to leave my house lest that be me
rebelling full of rage
I would not be ruled I left my place
just to be stripped of my dignity
the presence took over and had me take off my clothes in public
wanting to break me offering up men to seduce me
they wanted a show to be appeased sexually
going crazy I dialed 911
just to have an officer say
he would like to come back and spend some private time with me
they sought to turn me into a hellish beast
"feed the fire in me Crimsin"
so many dimensions in hell
I can't wait to show you
coded songs, coded verse
suddenly srdeks
made sense to me
I was full of rage
being entered so violently
why my soul?
why couldn't I be free?
Lucifer talked to me and said you don't remember me lover
though I remember you
you were torn when the war raged in heaven
taking a third of the stars with my tail
he said I loved him once and would again
or he would break and torture me
until my will bends to him
I've felt the force of Lucifer, the weight
causing me to curse the heavens
nothing more to say except hell awaits

This is spectacular, Crim, kind of a revelation in a sense. I can't help but think of Lucifer's proclamation in "Paradise Lost" that it's better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven. But you've got the personal touch going here. "Nothing more to say except hell awaits." We might already be there. I'm just waiting for the bus.

This is very vividly written and seems to describe a psychotic episode with some elements of demonic possession. Some of the best poetry I've read in a while.

The view from the edge is never boring, but it takes you into the abyss. The terror of going there even has a sort of romantic appeal, but it's a vortex that easily becomes a prison. How do we look without getting lathered up and bent?
It's hard to see how living so close to total destruction can displace rest and being able to relax. Who would we be if we weren't in close proximity to the end of the universe? It's funny how the challenge of being so ultra stimulated makes any lesser state look dissatisfying. And yet, oblivion is only a sneeze away.
This kind of intensity is stressful, commanding, demanding...and as a daily fare makes everything else look intolerable. Ironic, really. It makes life exciting, but merely living...unacceptable. We must rachet up everything. We live in Grand Theft Auto...a hell we cannot stop playing. Have you ever had the thought when you're driving down the road that you have been driving for eternity and this is all there is and all there ever will be?
You really got me going, Crim.
