I am a Flower

I am a Flower
A flower hidden in the desert
Left here for the one who looked closer.
He had no hurry
He had no rush
 
He did not mind the heat
He did not mind the cold
He was truly bold.

I am a flower in midst of blooming
I am a flower embracing life.

I am a flower
A flower that you have protected from the burning sun
A flower whose pain you've taken
A flower you have nurtured and cared for
A flower you have not forsaken.

You didn't mind the heat, instead you brought clouds
Clouds that helped keep me cool
You didn't mind the cold,
You brought such warmth with your love alone

You have protected me from stomping feet,
From those who step carelessly.
You have loved me so thoroughly,
I no longer feel pain.
When my petals began to wither,
You brought rain.
The rain brought hope,
My petals straightened once more.  
When the rain began to pour,
You kept me from drowning

You have been so bold,
Whether in the cold
Or the heat
You have not rendered to defeat

We have been through so much
My heart, you truly have touched

You are my sun
Whose light breaks through darkness
My rain who brings me hope
My protector who keeps me safe
My stars that shine in darkness.
You mean the world to me
And I am happy as can be.
