When You Walk Towards Your Shadow
When you walk towards your shadow and it keeps walking away
You clinch your hand and grip a falling star
The minute you drop your eyes towards your opening
You're left empty handed
You dwell in the warmth of light and then evening arrives
You've finally reached the top of your mountain
Until you have opened your eyes
When you have ran out of words to walk with,
your sweat pores are exhausted
your eyes can no longer tell you where to walk
Your smile is no longer part of your DNA
You reach towards a glass and it falls,
You switch on a tap and it lands on the floor
You cry and your tears pile up right beside your fallen soul
You jump and you just never land
You fly but only backwards
Your skin drops and you even fail to shelter your spine
You're breathing but your heart is not beating
A melody hits you but you can no longer feel
