Supplicant

"Do I look like I care?" she glares
"Maybe not but I try" I reply, trying not to cry
Her cat 'o' nine tongues unfurls, just waiting for an excuse
"And are you not a worm?"
I squirm, loving every syllable
"I can't tell you how much - "
"NO!  JUST SHUT IT!
Your words are a feeble joke at best!
A desecration at worst!
You are the Jester of Dogs!
And you are PATHETIC!"
I can't help but agree
I remain her supplicant
And don't ever set me free.
