Hook Line And Sinker
i'm a fresh fish
appendages barely sprout
scales glossy with perfection
swimming in your pond
of taradiddle
hitch the lure
plunge the line
you know i'll nibble
doltish little fish
fluttering in your net
you fidget with me
squeezing my delicacy
making insolent faces
amused at my imminent end
then a release, to my disbelief
briskly i swim away
chastising myself
for being duped by such a ruse
then i glimpse a tasty treat
teetering in the distance…
doltish
little fish am i
swimming
in your pond of
taradiddle
appendages barely sprout
scales glossy with perfection
swimming in your pond
of taradiddle
hitch the lure
plunge the line
you know i'll nibble
doltish little fish
fluttering in your net
you fidget with me
squeezing my delicacy
making insolent faces
amused at my imminent end
then a release, to my disbelief
briskly i swim away
chastising myself
for being duped by such a ruse
then i glimpse a tasty treat
teetering in the distance…
doltish
little fish am i
swimming
in your pond of
taradiddle
