The fear in me
The fear in me:
Push
I push you away
I ache
I ache for you to stay
But I push
Push
I can think of a million reasons; to not want to see you
All those same reason; are why I long, to just be near you
I want to breathe your scent, deep into my lungs
I will hold my breath; and then die
I want to see the glow of happiness, in my lover’s eyes
As he realizes, I am in paradise
Just to be near you, just to be in your presence… just to be
I think of so many reasons that make sense; until I push you away
I want to sleep with my eyes wide open, to watch you dream
I want to kiss you with my eyes closed, and then float away
I want to love you, I want to show you, I want this, somehow- someday
But I push

I suffer, and I ache
I ache, for you to stay

As I read your poem I can really feel the complexity of a real emotion, Lori.
