MOM, MY LIFE IS FULL OF SOUVENIRS OF YOU
When ill as a child, you worried about my health
your smile and your kindness during all those days
your happiness when I succeeded to my exams,
and when my daughters were born...
And now we worry about you, my brothers and my sister
spending time with you now, in kindness,
repeating the same words again and again
we are gentle with you, Alzheimer's is such a difficult disease
We will keep the best souvenirs of you
the love between you and dad will be one shining example
and your smile will stay forever in our memories.
Mom, my life henceforth, will be the best souvenir of you.

I have a friend whose mom has Alzheimer's disease and I was thinking of what he is going through currently when I read your poem......It is a disease that affects many people, and their family and loved ones face much difficulty and hardship, but giving patience, kindness and love to those affected is the way to go..... Great write!! ♡♡♡ :)

Thank you so much for your nice comment, Scarlett. This disease affects not a person, but all the family and we must take care to keep our link together to follow my mom. She is very lucky to live always in her house, one of my brothers living with her. She is lucky and we are also!
