Travelling Sideways

fluctuations in heartbeats
sirens in the distance
whispers of hold on hold on
sinks into the porous sand

distant childrens laughter
dogs barking happily
gamboling lambs on green hillocks
heart is slowing tiring now

a star flashes across the sky
wishes follows its trailing light
first sweet stolen kiss
sends a glitch on the heart

Heartbeats finally settle
eyes gazes into unseen horizon
blood seeps from her head
broken body in car wreck

In her pink dress, she skips happily
towards mommy and daddy
waiting at the beautiful park
with their dog and baby brother.
