A father's love.
A father's love, It's enough to make you go mad.
When I was younger, I'd lie and tell everyone I didn't have a dad.
Because in a way, I really didn't.
Father's didn't scream in your face,
Or throw stones through houses made out of glass.
They loved and cherished you,
And I didn't ever fucking get that.
Instead I got a man who yelled for sport,
And smoked until he was blue in the face.
I didn't get to go on playdates, or bake cakes.
I got long sleepless nights, and bitter apologies on sour coated birthday cakes.
I got shoes thrown at me, instead of love,
And bitter anxiety at the age of eight.
A father's love is a powerful thing,
And my envy grew deep inside my soul, because love was something I never got,
Only bad memories and rot so deep inside my soul I forgot who I was.
When I was younger, I'd lie and tell everyone I didn't have a dad.
Because in a way, I really didn't.
Father's didn't scream in your face,
