Prometheus, Arise
In the wind chilled night
When darkness covered the land
Man would cower, the grasping of hands
Fear of the unknown eats
At the very heart of instinct
At the howling of wolves
Of winter’s first full moon
I come alive
Newborn in a world lashed by gods
Like the worms fresh from the pods
They whimpered in fear
At the growling of shadows
The predators came calling
At the drop of a tear
Something growing
In the darkness
It comes alive
Like a new dawn
I am alive
Prometheus, arise
At the heart of night
Prometheus, arise
Monsters linger
There at the edge
Of the warm light
To devour
Consumed by the darkness they dread
The rumors spread, like curses said
Burning arrival
Bringing a weapon against night
A foe against snow falling
I came as their savior
Shining armor
In the madness
Twisting, turning
Restless howling
They bowed to me, their morning light
In utter delight, behold the sight
Burning with titanic fury
I am the Erebus blight
Magic circles
Enriched with spells
Made from the blood
Of dying gods
The baying there beyond the light
Echoes the song of Hades’ plight
Not by Zeus’ will
I risked the depths Tartarus
And set the blood to pumping
As beasts move to kill
Hope is kindled
And Zeus is scorned
My defiance
Is titanic
I spit in the eye of divine
I have drawn the line, nectar from vines
Will flow down the throats of their kings
Tell me, can you read the signs?
Against the night
Shines a beacon
Inside the storm
I come alive
I am alive
Prometheus, arise
At the heart of night
Prometheus, arise
