The Powerless Stranger
I’m shaped by the people
By their thoughts
By their judgments
This is not my body
Hiding in this stranger, is me
No voice, no power
Their comments change this stranger every time
This stranger is not me, but i’m changing too
For it’s not the inside they see, but it’s the outside
It’s not me they see, but the stranger that they, themselves have created
Hiding in me, is this stranger
No voice, no power
I was never like this
Until their comments reached my ears
And shaped me up, to who i’ve become today
Should I thank them, or should I be ungrateful
Should I blame my ears, or my mouth
For not one of them have closed or opened
I’m shaped by the people
By their thoughts
By their judgments
This is not my body
This is not me
By their thoughts
By their judgments
This is not my body
Hiding in this stranger, is me
No voice, no power
Their comments change this stranger every time
This stranger is not me, but i’m changing too
For it’s not the inside they see, but it’s the outside
It’s not me they see, but the stranger that they, themselves have created
Hiding in me, is this stranger
No voice, no power
I was never like this
Until their comments reached my ears
And shaped me up, to who i’ve become today
Should I thank them, or should I be ungrateful
Should I blame my ears, or my mouth
For not one of them have closed or opened
I’m shaped by the people
By their thoughts
By their judgments
This is not my body
This is not me
