The Mirror Lies
Tell me friend what do you see?
What is your root of uncertainty?
A troubled past? A wounded pride?
What forces you to draw inside?
A distorted view before your eyes,
Don’t you know? The mirror lies.
Day by day you start anew,
Unable to see a different view.
Why would you try to heal your heart?
When you’ve no clue, quite where to start.
So, with each mask, a new disguise.
You can not believe, the mirror lies.
When you refuse your love in all.
Your soul takes on a ghostly pall
Every challenge seems too rough
Doubting, when you are enough
Then you see what you despise,
And believe the mirrors lies
But the truth resides in what you feel
Love, and life are what is real
With a motion, swift and deft
Shattered glass is all that’s left
In its place bright blue skies
When you finally see the mirrors lies
What is your root of uncertainty?
A troubled past? A wounded pride?
What forces you to draw inside?
A distorted view before your eyes,
Don’t you know? The mirror lies.
Day by day you start anew,
Unable to see a different view.

Then you see what you despise,
And believe the mirrors lies
But the truth resides in what you feel

With a motion, swift and deft
Shattered glass is all that’s left
In its place bright blue skies
