Image for the poem .:Mirror, Mirror:.

.:Mirror, Mirror:.

here she is
waiting to dog me out; my mirror
such a bitch; propped
alongside a bitter light
she’s always right
to say the least
call her the honest beast
again,
her reflection
she’s throwing it at me

::she is::

clearly; my
smooth glimpse of clarity
my vanity is what she wants
whole being including those rabid bits of pain
what I can and can’t claim, yet
all there for us to see

::is she::

has she become
what I do and don’t see
a myriad of micro mirrors mirroring me
providing the allure, the proof
placing me in and out of my sanity
while my reality remains the same and
what I see is...what it is

::parody

another likeness;
in turn the same light catches us
all from amongst a variety that
my mirror will always choose to forgive
those dogged out reflections
smirking through glass
trying to live
