"PUT AWAY CHILDISH THINGS"
Paul the Apostle writes,
"When i was a child I talked,
thought,reasoned like a child.
But when i became a man,
I put away childish things"(1 Corinthians 13.11).
This applies even to childish parts of the Bible.
We are to "put them away" now that
we(human civilization) have become mature,
thru science(God's "General Revelation" of Himself).
(Science is our reward for the fulfilling
of the Great Commission over the centuries.)
Paul implies that "the Law of Moses,"
(Which refers to the 5 books by Moses)
Is childish or at least suited for children.
No, not so much children, exactly, as much as
Civilization in its childhood.
For Paul writes that,
"Before faith came, we were [confined],
kept under guard by the Law [of Moses],
Kept for the faith that would
afterward be revealed(Galatians 3.23).
For "The heir, AS LONG AS HE IS A CHILD,
does not differ at all from a slave,
though he is [the future] master of all.
But he is under guardians and stewards
until the time appointed by the father.
Even so we, WHEN WE WERE CHILDREN,
were in bondage [to the Law]"(Gal. 4.1-3).
"Therefore the Law [of Moses] was our Pedagogue",
To bring us to Christ, the schoolmaster,
that we might be justified by faith"(Gal 3.24-25).
See the Greek text (at the public library, etc).
It calls the Law our Paidogogue,
From which we get the English term, pedagogue.
In the first century the term, "Paidogogue"
refers to the Greek slave who would walk the children
to school, bringing them to the schoolmaster,
(see #3807, Greek lexicon, Strong's Bible Concordance).
When Paul the Apostle calls the Law our "paidogogue"
He is saying the Law of Moses(the first 5 books of the Bible)
is for children.not so much literal children, of course,
as much as human civilization in its childhood.
On that basis we are to "put away"
those parts that are "childish,"
For Paul gives us permission:
"When I became a man,
I put away childish things"(1 Cor 13.11).
We are to follow his example,
"Follow me as I follow Christ"(1 Corinthians 11.1).
Now that we are "men" - adults,
Meaning that now that civilization has science,
The Big Bang Theory in particular,
We are to "put away" the traditional view
Of Genesis 1's "Creation Week."
We are to jettison the "six 24-hour days" interpretation.
And go with the "several eons" view,
Based, as it is, on Apostle Paul's own words:
"By faith we understand that the eons("aionos" in the Greek)
were framed by the Word of God.."(Hebrews 11.3).
If Paul says the "days" of Genesis 1(Creation Week)
were in fact NOT days at all but "eons"(aionos),
who are we to dispute that with him?!
After all, if we go against his gospel,
Paul puts a curse on us(Galatians 1.8-9),
"If anyone preaches another gospel, let him be accursed!"
PS:Let me add to that:
If anyone rejects the BBT, the Big Bang Theory,
let him be accursed! ("Anathema" in the Greek).
