Holy Lie
If there's anything like a holy lie,
I've just told one,
My intention is to make and not break,
But if I let you down...
Words can be very powerful,
But I can't drag you out the pit,
We are caught in the same mess,
Myself I'm six feet deep.
I lied when I said,
Everything will be fine,
All I wanted was for you,
To put your worries behind.

Interesting, I would think about moving some of your commas around. Like your ideas, though. This definitely drew me into a d through the whole poem.
