Prophet


I am a prophet,
I know it,
though I wonder,
will I be praised and paid,
or persecuted and prosecuted?

Will I die an early death,
as almost all prophets do,
will my work only be shown,
to be great when my body is gone?

Is that the price I'm willing to pay,
to put my work out there without delay?
Yes,
most definitely.

I know I could die at any moment,
especially with the life I live,
even now where I am,
somewhere in northern Uganda,

Last week,
an Ethiopian jail,
week before that,
total solar eclipse in Kenya,
week before that,
chocolate in Beverly Hills,
my life is a dream,
sometimes a nightmare,
a life of extremes,
life doesn't fight fair,
one day,
I will wake up,
and all of this,
will be gone,
few ever reach,
the level I am on,

I am a prophet,
I know it,
so I show it,
in the words I produce,
volumes to be used,
as a map to guide the lost souls,
and all those that lost those,
directions we were given,
in this life we are livin',
we all depart sooner than later,
call me the navigator,
my words are a map,
that I leave before I depart,
and return to the stars,
a treasure map,
to the jewels I reveal,
this is all real,
these words chart our collective experiences,
as the stars chart our collective history,
the stars chart lifetimes,
these words chart this lifetime,
the stars we look out to,
these words we look in to,
this is all true,
that is the truth,

I am a prophet,
and I know I will die soon,
I could go at any moment,
there is no postponement,
to death,
yes,
so hopefully these words will live on,
to help others as a guide to get through,
so I continue to write until death takes me,
and you continue to read until death takes you,
for life is the journey,
not the destination,
so don't worry,
about all the questions,
I give it all,
until death takes me,
I'm ready for the otherside,
and whatever there awaits me.
