You and I Exist Like This

Could we not be metaphors today?
I get tired of trying to classify you as fantasy
We met
You left
Every time
We weren't made for dancing
The song would always last longer than your arms could hold me
We continue yesterday's conversation
Using today's words
And nothing gets said
We are a snow globe
Flipped over
I'm just watching as all the pieces fall
Until the chaos is gone
Not the same as the beginning
But frozen again nonetheless
And I can't stop staring at the space you just left
It's like I made up all these memories with just your silhouette
And my shadow
I think that's the point of darkness though
To lose yourself in it
The only problem is
I can't open my eyes to find my way out
