The World As It Is

We live in a maze

Each of us trying to dig out an existence

This world is harsh

Digging its talon like fingers

Into our minds.

I look around me and see some seemingly floating through life

Though this is just my perspective

We all feel love, pain and joy

On this spiraling axis called Earth

Each of us hurled here for a purpose

Not knowing what that purpose is

Maybe it's to open the hearts and minds of our brothers

To reveal some hidden secret unknown to our infantile brains.

I've learned many hard lessons here

I've bashed my head against the walls of this tunneling maze

More then once thinking I could make my own door

Plunging head first into a unbreakable wall.

So many diverse people

Each of us unique

Seeing things differently

Though we all deserve respect

Even the homeless person on the street

Who may have been born

With a broken and torn brain

Screaming at the skies

Emploring the creator

Why was I given these shoes to walk in?

I dont have the answer to these questions

Just an open heart

Searching, seeking the answers.
