The Lonely Tree

That soft sweet winter light that gleams across my eyes
Shadows bend and swirl along my body, the lonely tree hangs down all around
Chills flood over my body like waves on a shore
Moonlight covers the vast land that surrounds my body
My lonely mind wonders from thought to thought
The horrid thought of no one to feel, no one to give love

I sprawl across the ground, the chill of the cold grass slices through my soft skin
My mind visualizes a reality I never knew, sweet bliss
The moonlight blankets over top of my body
The shadow of the mind I once had hovers over my mind now, leaving a depression
No experience of true love leaves me to believe there is nothing of the such

I close my eyes for just a moment yet that moment feels endless
Sounds of the cool winter air blows through my ears
Falling into an abyss of depression I drift away
Stopping suddenly, I'm back with the lonely tree
The presence of another grows wildly, joining with my own

Opening my eyes only to find another pair watching mine
Gazing back are eyes of the curious, wondering
Their brown eyes gesture to my hand, theirs being held out
Their warm grasp sends a wave of warmth through my body
His lips whisper words of hope, full of the thought of what could be
We sit together under the lonely tree

Under the moonlight my thoughts have changed
I gaze into those creamy brown eyes, full of love, kindness at heart
His brown hair lays softly against his head, mine against his chest
We lay in peaceful harmony under the moons blanket of light
No words needed but the actions our bodies spill

Pulling closer, our hearts intertwine
What was thought to never be felt has now shown itself
We gaze into each others eyes, opening our souls
Our hands join to make as one
Smiles upon our lips twist onto each other, a kiss deepens to bind one another for love

We often find ourselves alone while losing hope
Believed to be worthless and nothing while in the state of depression
Falling until the one has caught us, never to fall again
Their mind a place you wish to stay

His eyes hold key to my soul forever
His lips open the door to another
His heart holds the home for I
My tongue never to speak the "I love you" lie
Those words are dear, they must be kept
But under this lonely tree is where our love is met
