Your part
Did they ever tell you, your part to play?
As a child smile,
Adult work hard,
Get old gracefully.
In-between important choices you live with until the end of your day.
Questioning your part?
Then you’re so near the start,
The first rule is just do so no matter what age,
As long as you do question and disengage.
Now take a good look at the things that you see,
Controlled images declaring you’re free,
Or the people who worship this God T.V.
It’s Bible; brain dead stories,
It’s prophets celebrity.
Now take a good look around and you’ll notice we’re slaves,
Robbed of the basics for survival we used to know,
How to make fire,
How to reap,
How to sow.
Look how we live, working ‘till on our knees,
As the few who own most,
Control at a distance;
in comfort and ease.
Our media will tell us that we won the war,
It’s stakes and the price the leaders ignore.
Look how they blame others for our people’s sins,
Men at the top profiting from a situation,
Where nobody wins.
But the people had no chance,
so they drink and drink and drink and drink and drink and drink
and fight,
their mantra
‘Ignorance is bliss’,
Yeah, fucking right.
Look at the law,
Which used to be that of the land,
Now you apply for a permit,
For a voice to demand.
How easy they stripped you of your rights,
Told for your own good,
The people started fighting,
But on Saturday night; outside clubs.
Now look at the people,
The idle, the scroungers, the bigoted fools
Brought up education does harm,
As a rule,
Allowed to pass the blame and again we go round
Their parents’ products of government agendas to dumb down.
Look at your world as it’ll never be the same,
The outlook for your generation,
Puts mine to shame.
Learn what you need most, a car or a forest,
Can we do what we like or are we simply a tourist?
Fight for the people, the plant, our strife,
Fight for equality, justice, what’s right,
This is the part you must play and now it’s your plight,
May God be with you,
Fight the good fight
