I Will Not Bow

(I wrote this for school for a "national anthem" for the "new" setting for the book Anthem. and YES this is inspired by I Will Not Bow by Breaking Benjamin)

I have broken free from their cowardice.
I will not conform to their society.
They do not know the truth of the past.
But only the lies they have built upon.
Nor do they honor an actual god.
But the word “we” in their own sloth.
I tried to show them the light of the past.
They responded in deeming me evil.
I was to be punished for simply trying to improve their way of life.
I have been Damned by them because I am my own man.
Altruism is not my way!
For I am my own!
I am done conforming!
Join me in the ways of old!
I am not a coward and nor are you!
So why keep living as one?!
I WILL NOT BOW TO YOUR DECEPTION!
I WILL NOT HONOR YOUR LIES!
I WILL NOT FOLLOW YOUR FALSEHOOD!
This world is ours and us this world’s.
There is no harm from our solitude.
We are not afraid like those of their ancestors.
They came together out of fear.
I will fight these challenges tooth and nail.
I will not back down from this fight.
There is no such thing as we in a singular sense.
That is just a mark of one who is afraid.
I am the one who is alone with my love against all odds.
I have learned from the old ways for I am one of the brave.
Individualism is my way!
I am not the many!
I am not the whipped!
I will not fall for these ‘false ways’!
I am not a coward and nor are you!
So why keep living as one?!
I WILL NOT BOW TO YOUR PROMISCUOUS DECEPTION!
I WILL NOT HONOR YOUR BLASPHEMOUS LIES!
I WILL NOT FOLLOW YOUR DEVINE FALSEHOOD!
I WILL NOT BOW!!
I WILL NOT HONOR!!
I WILL NOT FOLLOW!!
I! WILL! NOT! BOW!!
