Don't Let Him Make A Fool Outta You
Seein' this boy and girl pass me by,
Girl lookin' down on the ground.
Seein' her out and about with her man,
I just can't understand why she let him put her down.
People ask her " girl, why you settle for less when you should be blessed?".
This boy ain't no man.
He can't even provide for her,
He sit on her couch drinking from his bottle.
She cook and clean and cook and clean, but
He just don't appreciate.
I wish fate should've never brought them together.
Ain't no hombre bueno para ella.
Sayin' he can get whoever he wants.
Sayin' she flaunts her looks too much for the others.
She says she can't walk away because she wants to stay.
She says she loves him, but what's love got to do with it?.
Que no se trate su derecho.
This boy's gone loco,
Don't know he got a good thing.
He can't bring her what she needs, but
Makes her give him all the things he wants.
Mother Mary, mercy this girl,
Sweet Jesus, let her be aware of this.
Surprise, surprise this girl catches her man in bed with another girl.
Her world collapsed as she saw her man under another woman.
Él es in hombre mezquino y desagradable.
This girl don't care and says they'll still be together forever.
God, this girl is so blind as her mind is brain washed into thinking it's right when it's wrong.
She's so dumb and naive to believe he's a changed man,
She's so foolish to compete when he cheats with loose women.
Can't this girl find another that's better?.
Though she never listens when they say " Don't let him make a fool outta you!".

Nice observation! I guess it is as enigma to us all to see someone settling for a person who seems to be no good for them. There must be something so powerful in her/her heart that keeps her/him from letting go. I know that something similar happened with me once before. I was in love with a girl for two years, and everyone in the neighborhood and my mom and dad and brother were saying, "Rocio is using you." But no one can escape a desire so strong for someone. The desire has to escape from them one day. They might even have days when they will want to want that person again, but the desire will be gone and they will not waste their lives anymore with that person. I think that that is the nature of desire. It is illogical and irrevocable. It suddenly comes and suddenly leaves all as it wishes. All we can do is follow it when it comes and create another life for ourselves when it leaves.
The Spanish creates a great sense of environment and culture and facilitates our journey into the human situations of another people that are just as our own situations. It show that in other languages and among other cultures, human struggles are just the same, that there is one human condition and that we are all one underneath it. So I'm figuring out that you are really aware of the human condition. Your poems fight for the freedom of humankind from its chains. They are useful and meaningful to daily experience.

Exactly!, I was also in a toxic relationship, but it was a on and off again relationship but obviously I'm no longer with him.
Now I'm with someone new who can treat me right and they've stuck by me for a year. So the reason why I wrote this about a girl being treated bad isn't necessarily because it's about me, but because I've known many Latino women who went through including my own mother ( not with my father of course) with my brother's father and had to be a single mom for awhile so my point being is this poem's moral is: don't ever let a man treat you less from what you deserve
