The Way You Are
Rainbows, sunshine through the rain,
Have I lost my mind? Am I going insane?
But the mist lies heavy near the rivers and streams,
As the darkness enters my brightest dreams.
I'm lying here on a bed of roses,
With it's beauty disguising the danger it poses.
The thorns cutting deeper into my scars,
A darkened planet among millions of stars.
But I love you deeply no matter your faults,
Until my heart stops bringing life to a halt.
I've never known a love like this before,
Like a shipwreck stranded on a lonely shore.
Like a rainbow that lasts a moment in time.
I'd capture the minutes to make you mine.
I'd make that wish upon a star,
Because I truly love you the way you are.
