R.I.P. Lauren Bacall

We lost one of the greatest beauties
That God bestowed on this world
During the last century
Due to the loss of another great
Her passing was over looked by most.

"Vogue" model by age 14
First acting contract signed at 17
Paid a mere $100 per week
To keep her in line for their wants
Thankfully she met her greatest love there

She was still relatively a child
When she caught this wild man's eye
Didn't take long for Bogie's heart to be captured as well
Starred together in several movies
Soon married and she bore him two children

Grief was felt for such a long time
Work for her tapered off
Found solace for a short while with the great Sinatra
Returned to Broadway and met Jason Robards
The two wed and one more child was born to her

In the '60s she was offered more movies once again
All were filled with many bright stars
She loved working so closely with old friends
But none as much as the one that highlighted her comedic talent
She "Married a Millionare" along side cherished friends Monroe and Grabble

Model, actress, author, singer, mother and wife
Academy award nominee....honorary winner
She won Tonys and a Golden Globe
Political activist and true humanitarian
May peace truly be yours
