Consumption
Another mouth to feed
Tearing at the fabric of reality
Gorging a belly full of blood on the scalp of Mother Earth
Another competitor angling position for scraps on the table
Relentlessly famished empty vessel creating family tensions
Lustfully biting into a chicken leg with near sexual passion
Greedy plump fingers ravaging cupboards
In search of that elusive hidden treat that is always really good
One hatch-ling thrives as his sister is dying of malnutrition
The body a support system to fuel the chomping of this jaw
Or was it the other way around?
The human nature to procreate shall not be swayed
A collective mind unable to take precaution or exercise self control
Every day a new vast legion of Pac-men are deployed from the cargo bay of wombs
Gnawing their way through this life until the world runs out of levels
In secret covenants the shadow kings plan wars to impose balance
Satisfying constant hunger through a lunch time hail of bullets
In my heart I know it does not need to be this way
There has to be a method to create organic utopia
The California sun should be able to feed half the world
Come together and show some restraint in reproduction
Take measured steps to enjoy healthy sex without creating a child we are not ready to care for
Of course I do not have the answer or means to put these steps into effect
I am merely another half-wit only intelligent enough to recognize the pitfalls of the problem and too stupid to provide a comprehensive solution
So it should come to no surprise
When I ask you,
"Hey brother, can you spare a bowl of rice?"
