overwhelmed

there are days when the pain
runs so deep
every movement hurts

when she is forced
to sit across the table
from the person who
said he would always be there
and never was

who can't own up to the fact
that he tore her world apart
and left her with nothing

to simply take some form of responsibility
make some attempt to understand
why
she is leaving
but he just doesn't get it
on any level

he is content
to see her unhappy
everyday
he sits and smirks in
sadistic
gratification

never has she known such cruelty

she has no option
but to stay and finish what they
started
in the only civilized manner
she is allowed

seems wrong
on so many levels
