Where The Wind Blows, Answers To Be Found?

"Dad, can I give that man a smile?"
son asks his father as they walk
the park is filled with people
and yet the man feels alone
Wall street investors playing hard and fast with rules
bankrupted his retirement
while heads that are dead in D.C. raid Social Security

Child with a lollipop on the bus states
"Auntie, that little girl needs this more then me"
noticing the two sitting across
the little girl no more then 6 looking petrified
realizing that the woman
sitting next to her who has played the role of mom
because of something called cancer
may not be around much longer
and the insurance company dickers about which costs to pay

"Uncle I know it is my birthday but I would
like to buy this coat for that man",
the guy he noticed upon coming into the store
his clothes are worn a bit but he has a dignified pose
limping from the wounds in service for Uncle Sam
a pin is on his lapel, recognition for his bravery
but the biggest scars are mental
those that his government denies exist

Shall we keep the term "humanity" linked to humans
maybe that is for a greater debate
for just as you think no evidence is to be found
it is...often in the mouths of the young

"And feed them on your dreams, the one they fix, the one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.'
