No Pretends

NO PRETENDS

Mera the magnificent to me was heaven sent

a mere nine months after my wife there went

As at the time my garb was bent

I opted out a gal to rent

Even though the time was bought

I was not quite hot to trot

Companionship was my prime thought

Beautiful and brainy and I was caught

And just by us there hanging out

It so happened to come about

that she saw me as not a lout

And I knew then without a doubt

That weed be friends until time ends

Even as it winds and wends

If they are true with no pretends

That this is how a broke heart mends
