Affinity
Those words
that paper
have very little affinity
with dear old me
yes, they are topical
yes, they allow you to relate
...yet i do not
Those words and me
we are of a separate entity
very little affinity
to say them with meaning
is for me to try
hard
to force an emotion...
it comes like projectile vomit;
a gift from Wallace to Gromit
that, for me
has no intrinsic beauty
Such words should be said by another
Yes, i know these words were mine
but i wrote them half-heartedly
and speak them with so much less,
with mere crumbs from a palpitating surface
Do you not see, notice, realise
such words from this mouth
would not be wholly worthy of praise or prize
and so i retaliate
with this entity
and speak these words
with affinity.
