Lobo, thank you for the kind words. The friend is a co worker, I didn't know his dad. We're not that close, but he's about my age and has little kids. It pains me to see the grief people go though due to loss, and the grief can last a long time. I had to sign the card, and everyone else wrote condolences / best wishes. I try to write something that means something. Usually, I write something like remember / honor the lost one by emulating the best aspects of their personality. In this case, I wanted to write something different. Left it open, the grief can pass due to memories, either of the loss one, or new happy memories. Thought I would share it here so others could use it when needed.
