Oh but Then...

flutters of eyelids
sleep hanging tight
a bit too much drink
to end a stressful day

laughter rather loosely brayed
from the front seat
of a posh shiny car
ending in a puff and many bottoms-up

wind in their hair
they flew with the night
magic dusts and lusts
engulfing their bodies

they wake up in beauty
of a satisfying coupling
two total strangers
on a one night stand

Unknown to them
in drunk driving
a young boy on a white bed
is fighting for his life

he never saw them coming
wildly entangled in a car
hitting him on his hip
and sending him head first
into the ditch

Oh but then
they had a good time last night
not knowing absolved them
the carefree killers.
