bittersweet Melody

I'll take the blame. I fell for you hard and now I'm in a rut and it's all my fault. I couldn't guard my heart. And I've lied to you once. I told you I had for your own benefit. I know I was lying but, I couldn't help it.

What does it matter?  You're over there with thoughts of another.
It's a game and I'm the pawn. But, the flesh is weak so baby, play me like your favorite song, and with every breaking, aching piece of me I hope you'll remember me, as I crumble in defeat for my very soul is weak.

This is a dangerous game I play, a heart wrenching melody.
