Image for the poem Pandora

Pandora's Box

I wear the key around my neck
Imagination calling on me
Open the box and set the spirits free
No I say with much resolve
Once opened this door can not be closed
A portal torn open from this world to the next
If I open it will I be blessed or vexed?

I've felt the sting of evil felt it's caress

Opening Pandora's box intrigues me
Calling on me come take a drink
It will bring you to the brink
Fill you with wonder
It will make you come alive
Come dear one
Don't be afraid of whats inside.

Darknes and light is harbored here

All of the secrets you've been searching for
Come I say have your thirst be quenched
Your questions appeased
Is this a genie or a demon from hell?

The box labeled with a question mark

So rightly labeled
I know I'm not ready for what lies within the bottle of inspiration
So for now I will keep the key hidden.

Now chained around my heart
Pandora's box so intriguing
Though the opening may
Cast me into eternal dark.
