Right between You and I
We were both a last chance for romance.
Both amateurs with no experience of keeping someone from first glance.
We were both unexpected, carrying passions, weird fetishes and demeaning traits we kept to ourselves.
But we said "Hi," we kept conversations flowing, expecting only a friendship only discovering we were lost books on a dusty book shelves-----
fluttering with words like no other and a story untold.
Without knowing, we were giving each other, each our soul.
We were trusting, which wasn't a trait we give others from ourselves.
So doing this to one another was a click, a sign, a dream of some kind.
Showing us with caution the deliberate route we were about to take with keeping the car going and not hitting the brakes.
On this road trip with you that started out, as complete strangers looking for some leverage, or just some way out.
Then it became a journey of the meaning of our lives, no longer two strangers but two people with a purpose.
Two people who in the beginning thought that the meaning of life was just straight ahead, on the road pavement leading them to where they should have always been.
Instead it was on the seat next to each of them.
They weren't looking though, it wasn't until the road no longer needed watching and the views became too dry to see.
That they both saw, they were meant to be.
